These crispy parmesan garlic wings are an easy homemade game night snack featuring a savory, cheesy crust with a perfect crunch. Ready in about 40 minutes, they are a crowd-pleaser that pairs well with cold drinks and good company.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds chicken wings, split into flats and drumettes
  • 3/4 cup (75g) finely grated Parmesan cheese (Parmigiano-Reggiano recommended)
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 1/2 cup (50g) panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Optional: Fresh parsley, finely chopped, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Pat the chicken wings dry with paper towels to remove moisture.
  3. In a medium bowl, combine grated Parmesan, panko breadcrumbs, minced garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper; mix evenly.
  4. Drizzle olive oil over the wings and toss to coat each piece lightly.
  5. Add the wings to the Parmesan mixture and toss gently to coat thoroughly without crushing the coating.
  6. Arrange the wings spaced out on a wire rack placed over a rimmed baking sheet.
  7. Bake for 35-40 minutes, turning the wings halfway through, until golden and crispy with juices running clear.
  8. Optional: Sprinkle fresh parsley over the hot wings immediately after baking.

Notes

Dry wings thoroughly before seasoning to ensure crispiness. Use a wire rack to allow air circulation and prevent soggy bottoms. Flip wings halfway through baking for even browning. For extra crispiness, broil for 1-2 minutes at the end but watch closely to avoid burning. For gluten-free, substitute breadcrumbs with crushed gluten-free crackers or almond flour. For dairy-free, replace Parmesan with nutritional yeast.
