Easy Make-Ahead Turkey and Cheese Pinwheels

These easy make-ahead turkey and cheese pinwheels are quick, tasty, and perfect for parties or casual gatherings. They require no cooking and can be prepared in advance for stress-free entertaining.

Ingredients

  • Large flour tortillas
  • Deli turkey slices (thinly sliced)
  • Cheddar cheese (shredded or thinly sliced)
  • Dijon mustard
  • Mayonnaise (optional)
  • Fresh spinach or lettuce leaves (optional)
  • Salt and pepper (to taste)

Instructions

  1. Lay out the tortillas flat on a clean surface.
  2. Spread a thin, even layer of Dijon mustard over each tortilla. Add a thin layer of mayonnaise on top if desired.
  3. Arrange 3-4 slices of deli turkey evenly over the tortilla, leaving a small border around the edges.
  4. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese or layer thin cheese slices over the turkey.
  5. Add fresh spinach or lettuce leaves on top of the cheese if using.
  6. Roll the tortilla tightly into a log shape.
  7. Wrap each rolled tortilla tightly in plastic wrap and chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes or up to 24 hours.
  8. Remove the wraps and slice each roll into 1-inch rounds using a sharp knife.
  9. Arrange the pinwheels on a serving platter and serve chilled or at room temperature.

Notes

Warm tortillas slightly in the microwave for 10 seconds if they crack when rolling. Chill the rolled tortillas for at least 30 minutes to help them hold their shape. Use a serrated or very sharp knife for clean slices. Optional mayonnaise adds creaminess but can be skipped for a lighter version. Substitute gluten-free tortillas for a gluten-free version and vegan cheese and deli slices for a dairy-free or vegan version.
