  • 1 package (3 oz/85 g) strawberry or cherry gelatin (Jell-O or similar)
  • 1/2 cup cold water (120 ml)
  • 1/4 cup vodka or rum (60 ml)
  • White Layer (Creamy Middle): 1 package (3 oz/85 g) unflavored gelatin
  • 1/2 cup cold water (120 ml)
  • 1 cup sweetened condensed milk (300 ml)
  • 1/2 cup hot water (120 ml)
  • 1/4 cup vodka or rum (60 ml)
  • Blue Layer: 1 cup boiling water (240 ml)
  • 1 package (3 oz/85 g) blueberry or blue raspberry gelatin
  • 1/2 cup cold water (120 ml)
  • 1/4 cup vodka or rum (60 ml)
  • Optional Garnishes: Fresh blueberries or small star-shaped sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Red Layer: Dissolve 1 package of red gelatin in 1 cup boiling water. Stir for about 2 minutes until completely dissolved. Add 1/2 cup cold water and 1/4 cup vodka or rum. Mix gently and pour into molds or cups, filling about one-third full. Chill in the refrigerator for 30 minutes or until firm but still slightly tacky.
  2. Make the White Layer: Sprinkle unflavored gelatin over 1/2 cup cold water and let it bloom for 5 minutes. Warm 1/2 cup hot water and whisk in the bloomed gelatin until fully dissolved. Stir in sweetened condensed milk and 1/4 cup vodka or rum until smooth. Carefully pour this mixture over the red layer, filling molds another third of the way. Refrigerate for 30-40 minutes until set but not hard.
  3. Prepare the Blue Layer: Dissolve blue gelatin in 1 cup boiling water, stir well, add 1/2 cup cold water and 1/4 cup alcohol. Pour gently over the white layer, filling molds to the top. Chill for at least 2 hours until firm.
  4. Serving: Once fully set, garnish with fresh blueberries or festive sprinkles if desired.

Notes

Bloom unflavored gelatin properly for a smooth white layer. Pour layers slowly and only when the previous layer is firm or tacky to avoid mixing colors. Use freezer briefly to speed setting but watch carefully. Wipe drips for neat presentation. For non-alcoholic versions, substitute alcohol with juice or sparkling water. For dairy-free, use coconut cream and agar agar powder instead of gelatin and sweetened condensed milk.
