Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 (8-inch) flour tortillas (whole wheat or gluten-free optional)
  • 8 ounces (225 grams) fresh turkey slices, thin and lean
  • 4 ounces (115 grams) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup packed (about 30 grams) fresh baby spinach, washed and patted dry
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
  • Pinch of salt
  • Pinch of black pepper
  • Optional extras: 1/2 cup shredded cheddar or Swiss cheese, sliced avocado, thinly sliced red bell pepper

Instructions

  1. In a small mixing bowl, soften 4 ounces (115 grams) of cream cheese. Add 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder, and a pinch each of salt and black pepper. Mix until smooth and evenly combined (about 2 minutes).
  2. Place one 8-inch flour tortilla flat on a cutting board. Evenly spread about 2 tablespoons (30 grams) of the cream cheese mixture over the entire surface, leaving a small border around the edges.
  3. Layer about 2 ounces (56 grams) of turkey slices evenly over the cream cheese. Sprinkle about 1/4 cup (7 grams) of fresh baby spinach on top. Add optional cheese or veggies if desired.
  4. Starting from one edge, roll the tortilla tightly but gently to avoid tearing, forming a compact roll.
  5. Wrap the rolled tortilla in plastic wrap or parchment paper and refrigerate for at least 10 minutes to firm up the cream cheese.
  6. Using a sharp knife, cut the roll into 1-inch (2.5 cm) thick pinwheels. Arrange on a plate or lunchbox.
  7. Serve immediately or keep covered in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours. Enjoy cold or at room temperature.

Notes

Use softened cream cheese for easy spreading. Roll tightly but gently to avoid tearing tortillas. Chill wrapped rolls before slicing for clean pinwheels. Keep spinach dry to prevent sogginess. Customize with optional cheese or veggies. Avoid freezing as texture changes.
