Spooky glow-in-the-dark sherbet Halloween punch - featured image

A spooky Halloween punch that glows under black light thanks to tonic water, combining lime sherbet, pineapple juice, and ginger ale for a creamy, fizzy, citrusy treat. Ready in just 5 minutes, it’s a crowd-pleasing party drink that kids and adults love.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 liter lemon-lime soda (like Sprite or 7UP)
  • 2 cups pineapple juice (unsweetened, 100% juice)
  • 2 cups tonic water (Schweppes or Canada Dry recommended)
  • 1 quart lime sherbet (softened slightly)
  • Ice cubes (optional)
  • Optional garnishes: gummy worms, plastic spiders, or lime slices

Instructions

  1. Set up your black light behind or above the punch bowl and test it to ensure proper illumination.
  2. In the punch bowl, combine 1 liter lemon-lime soda, 2 cups pineapple juice, and 2 cups tonic water. Stir gently.
  3. Scoop the entire quart of lime sherbet into the bowl. Break it into smaller chunks with a large spoon, but do not stir completely—leave some creamy swirls.
  4. Stir gently a few times to partially incorporate the sherbet. The punch should look pale green with darker green streaks.
  5. If serving immediately, add ice cubes. For less dilution, use frozen punch cubes.
  6. Add optional garnishes like gummy worms, plastic spiders, or lime slices.
  7. Turn off overhead lights and switch on the black light to test the glow. Add more tonic water if needed.
  8. Serve immediately in clear cups so guests can see the glow. Best enjoyed within the first hour.

Notes

For the brightest glow, use high-quality tonic water like Schweppes or Fever-Tree. Add sherbet just before serving to maintain fizz and visual appeal. Chill all ingredients overnight for best results. For an adult version, add 1 cup vodka or white rum. For dairy-free, use lime sorbet instead of sherbet.
